ScanMeSite

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

ScanMeSite (“we”, “us”) is operated by BitMentors Inc., a Canadian company. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit scanmesite.com (the “Site”), why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have over it.

1. Information we collect

You don't need an account to read anything on the Site — tutorials and blog posts are free and open to everyone. An account is only created if you log in to enroll in a course under Learn. We collect information in these ways:

2. How we use this information

We don't sell your email address, and we don't use it for anything other than what's described above.

3. Cookies

We use three categories of cookies/local storage:

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; doing so may affect how the Site displays but won't stop it from loading.

4. Third-party services we use

Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, the United States. By using the Site, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws.

5. Data retention

We keep your newsletter email for as long as you remain subscribed, and delete it (or anonymize it) within a reasonable time after you unsubscribe. We keep your learner account and course progress for as long as the account exists; contact us to have it deleted. Analytics and advertising data is retained by Google according to Google's own retention settings, which we don't control.

6. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, including restricting access and using reputable, security-conscious infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's privacy

The Site isn't directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK), and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

8. Your rights

Canada (PIPEDA)

As a Canadian company, we comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at the email below.

European Economic Area & UK (GDPR)

If you're located in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw consent at any time (which won't affect processing that already happened). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below.

California (CCPA/CPRA)

If you're a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of its “sale” or “sharing” (as those terms are defined under California law) — which, on this Site, refers to the advertising cookies described above. You can opt out via Google's Ads Settings or by contacting us directly. We don't sell personal information for money.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
